Our volunteers work hard every day to care for, feed and protect the animals at the sanctuary. But we can’t do it alone. We had a very dark day on the farm last Sunday, when Ben, everybody’s favourite goat, died of a metabolic disorder that had affected his vital organs, fatty deposits, and bladder. Considered by the dairy industry to be a waste product, Ben’s fate would normally be to go to slaughter at 6 days old. Rescued
