Celebrating Farm Animal Rescue Volunteer - Sarah
This month we celebrate FAR Volunteer Sarah. We asked her a little about what led her to volunteer, and her love for animals.
"I've been, volunteering with activism for the last 5 years. I became interested after seeing the injustice and cruelty in the world, and seeing behind the scenes of what was considered normal.
I love being able to see these beautiful creatures in a safe and loving environment, being looked after and used to educate the public of the reality.
However, being around animals is difficult once you unlearn cognitive dissonance, as everytime I see a farm, paddock, truck, or non vegan food, my heart breaks and the plight of animals is reminded.
I used to run my own rescue and rehabilitation program from home for domestic animals and would do anything for this world to be cruelty free, non oppressive and fair.
My favourite resident at FAR was Portia, as she was the first pig I ever met and it really struck me how much propaganda there was around these animals. Portia is sweet, kind and beautiful, and pigs don't deserve the reputation they are given." Sarah
Thank you Sarah, for everything you do for the animals.
