A bloody business...
𝐇𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓?
Sometimes a story is so outrageous we wonder at the telling of it, and yet the Roma Saleyards Tour Guide told it earnestly.
He told us A Bloody Business, the explosive expose on live export by Animals Australia aired on Four Corners in 2011, was actually filmed by activists in Indonesia in 1986. “That is the nature of what they (activists) do”, he said.
We wondered if the misinformation was intentional? Were other guides saying this too? And how many people had unknowingly fallen for the misinformation in the guide’s 8 years of volunteering.
Audio of the live export comments by the tour guide was sent to Animals Australia. The inaccuracies on the audio were concerning, they said.
They contacted the CEO of Roma Saleyards requesting that inaccurate information not be told to visitors and were advised that it would be looked into and that they would make sure that any such commentary ceases immediately.
